Dear Rabbi May:

Thank you for returning my telephone call on Monday, June 4, 2001.

It is very disturbing to me that as a representative of the Museum of Tolerance, you do not call on Antonio Villaraigosa, the politician who characterizes himself as the champion of anti-hate, to condemn La Voz de Aztlan, one of several vicious antisemitic organizations that puts hateful rhetoric on the their website such as is seen in the attached article. The absurd explanation that I got from David Lehrer of the Anti-Defamation League as to why Villaraigosa refuses to condemn La Voz de Aztlan, is that it would appear to the public that it is self serving to him because that hate organization also makes disparaging remarks about Mr. Villaraigosa himself. As I see it, there should be no conditions not to condemn any organization as antisemitic as La Voz de Aztlan. It appears as though Mr. Villaraigosa is trying please your Museum of Tolerance and the Jewish community, and at the same time wishes to maintain his political status with antisemitic Raza groups, no matter the cost or the hate he must be allied with.

On May 31 at the debate at the Museum of Tolerance, when asked by KNX NewsRadio reporter Frank Mottek if he still held to the belief as he did when he attended UCLA, of a separate Chicano republic, Mr. Villaraigosa refused to answer the question. Instead he turned his focus on me (not by name), saying something to the effect that I was in need of tolerance training and reminded the audience that he put together $18 million (no doubt California's tax payers' money) to the Museum of Tolerance.

Since you and Mr. Villaraigosa see fit to condemn non-Latino organizations which you believe are antisemitic but you don't condemn antisemitic Latino organizations such as those Mr. Villaraigosa is or has been allied with, I can only conclude that tolerance at the Museum of Tolerance can be bought for the right price.

As a Jew myself, I am outraged at the lightness you give to this matter. Since, in our telephone conversation, you did not want to discuss Mr. Villaraigosa's ties to antisemitic Raza organizations saying to me "I don't want to go there," and terminating our telephone conversation in the most rude manner, I feel compelled to make your "selective" tolerance a public issue starting with the posting of this letter on the MayorNo website.

Sincerely,

Hal Netkin

Why Tony Lost <http://www.aztlan.net/tonykippah.htm>

La Voz de Aztlan Commentary

Los Angeles Elections for Mayor

Antonio Villargairosa lost the Los Angeles election for mayor because he only got approximately 95,000 votes of the potential 315,000 Latino registered voters. This means that about 220,000 Latinos either stayed home or voted for his opponent James Hahn. With a difference of only 38,782 votes between the loser and the winner, Villaraigosa needed a mere 22% of the Latinos who stayed home in order to have won the election.

Why did 180,000 Latinos stay home and not vote for Villargairosa? The reason is that a growing number of us are fed up with the rigged political system and the corrupt candidates the Jewish dominated Democratic Party choose for us. There was no real choice of candidates and many of us just simply decided to stay home.

Villaraigosa was perceived as a candidate being shoved down our throats by principally Jewish interests from the westside of Los Angeles. He was not a candidate for La Raza. His rise to political prominence was orchestrated and began with his appointment to the presidency of the Jewish run American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) of Southern California. He lost the backing of many Latino educators when he betrayed "Bilingual Education" on behalf of Jews like Ron Unz, the initiative's author. He also showed his true colors when he backed Richard Hertzberg, a Jew, to replace him as the California Speaker of the Assembly. This he did, like Judas, by betraying a Mexicano member of the Assembly.

While he was Speaker of the Assembly, La Voz de Aztlan can not think of anything significant he did on behalf of La Raza. Last year, Impacto 2000 sought his support for the design and construction of a monument to honor the contributions of Mexican immigrants in the same way that Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty honors immigrants from Europe. Impacto 2000 representatives informed La Voz de Aztlan that his staff "laughed " at the idea. Now we hear that he obtained 18 million dollars for the Jewish Holocaust Museum of Los Angeles. We wonder where this 18 million dollars came from. Was it California tax money? We now began to understand how the Jews have used him.

La Raza will eventually takeover the government of the City of Los Angeles. It is just a matter of time. It may be as soon as next election, but it will not happen with a candidate like the opportunist and betrayer of La Raza, Tony Villaraigosa. He is a "pocho" that does not inspire the large majority of La Raza. His failure to utilize the Spanish speaking media cost him a lot of votes. We need a candidate that is going to tell it like it is and not pussyfoot around town "romancing" all the other ethnic and racial groups. With 315,000+ registered voters in the city, we don't need the Jews nor the Whites to win. We need a real leader, a fearless leader with courage and conviction that can unite all of La Raza of Los Angeles.
