Whenever L.A. Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa is asked what he will do about illegal immigration, he passes the buck to the feds. He says that the U.S. has every right to enforce its immigration laws and it's their responsibility. But when congress wanted to enact the Clear Law Enforcement for Criminal Alien Removal Act requiring cooperation by the LAPD with the INS to identify and deport illegal alien gang members, Antonio Villaraigosa not only opposed cooperation with the INS, he voted for councilman Dennis Zine to go to Washington to lobby against the bill!
